Project Background

The 10-year Parks and Recreation Master Plan — released in 2023 and informed by public input, national benchmarks, a review of local inventory, and analysis of current and future usage — identified a new recreation center with youth and adult programming as a top priority within the community. According to the data, recreational programs are well attended and are in high demand by the community. As a result, program participation is reaching capacity due to limited indoor space. Community interest in a new recreation center received highly favorable responses in the March 2024 Bond Projects Survey.
